CDC Issues Stricter Travel Requirements

As COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc worldwide, the CDC just issued a new order tightening travel restrictions. Effective Tuesday, January 26, 2021, all air passengers arriving in the United States from a foreign country must get tested no more than three days before their flight departs–and to present the negative result or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 to the airline before boarding the flight.

This new directive applies to ALL air passengers, two years of age or older, traveling into the U.S., including U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents.

If your traveling from a U.S. territory or have atypical travel arrangements, you can read the FAQ directly from the CDC’s website here.

As the severity of the virus ebbs and flows, expect the CDC to tweak their travel policy. As your flight approaches, check with your airline to make sure you meet all the requirements for travel.
