Review: Amex Centurion Lounge–Las Vegas

I had the opportunity to visit the Amex Centurion Lounge at the McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas early last month. COVID restrictions were still in place inside, but fortunately, it was open for business. For those of you who have not yet had the chance to visit a Centurion Lounge–they are among the best domestic lounges available. The biggest complaint is overcrowding. Amex has been taking steps over the past few years to address that issue by adding more lounges to the network, expanding existing lounges, and tweaking access requirements.

Location

The Lounge is located in Concourse D, opposite Gate D1. The concourse is accessible from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 via the transit system. Once you pass security, follow signs to D gates. The hours of operation are 7 am – 6 pm.

Access

Access to The Centurion Lounge is complimentary for global Platinum Card, Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card, and Centurion Members. To access The Centurion Lounge, the card member must present The Centurion Lounge agent with the following upon each visit: his or her valid card, a boarding pass showing a confirmed reservation for same-day travel on any carrier, and a government-issued I.D – name on the card must match government-issued I.D. Delta SkyMiles Reserve Card Members are only eligible to visit The Centurion Lounge when flying on a same-day Delta-marketed or Delta-operated flight.

The Centurion Lounge is a day-of-departure lounge requiring confirmed travel plans. Passengers holding standby tickets and non-revenue standby passengers, including airline or industry employees traveling on discounted tickets, are not eligible to utilize the lounge unless they have received a boarding pass showing a confirmed seat or zone assignment for the flight for which they are on standby. A card member with a round-trip itinerary may only access the lounge within the 3 hours before their outbound departure time.

Centurion Lounge, LAS

This lounge is on the larger size with plenty of comfortable seating and the typical Centurion decor. I entered at 7:00 as it opened for the day so it wasn’t crowded, and I had my choice of seating.

Food

I arrived as the lounge opened for the day so a full hot breakfast wasn’t available until 7:30. Due to the pandemic restrictions, the buffet has staff that would plate your food selection and hand you the tray. As always, you can have whatever you want, as much as you want.

Centurion Lounge, LAS

The dining area was extremely organized and efficient. The staff was friendly and helpful. I only had 30 minutes to enjoy the lounge, so I couldn’t partake in the full breakfast menu –but the food is always good in the Centurion Lounges. I wish I had more time.

Bottom Line

Although my visit was short and a bit rushed, the Centurion Lounge at LAS was impressive. The space was quite large, the layout was great–with both open areas and little nooks for some privacy. Staff was on point and friendly.
