You don’t have to fly to experience a taste of first class; American Airlines is bringing that directly to your home. American introduced Flagship Wine Cellars, a partnership with the online wine retailer Vinesse. Subscriptions start at $99 and you can cancel anytime. These are the same wines that American serves aboard their first and business class cabins.
You can completely customize your delivery–mix and match white and reds, regions, or choose a random case based upon recommendations from their sommelier.
As an added bonus, you can earn two American AAdvantage miles per dollar spent on every order from this wine collection. Be sure to provide your AAdvantage number during check-out.
What is the motivation for American to sell wine? Do they have an abundance in warehouses because people aren’t flying during the pandemic? Will this program end when ticketing returns to normal? I have no idea. But, I do think it’s a pretty awesome to close your eyes, take a deep breath, sip some wine, and imagine you are in a first class cabin on your way to a new destination.
What do you think of American’s new wine program?
