The American Express platinum card has released some amazing offers this month. Their latest offer can get you up to $150 in free food from Home Chef–a meal kit and food delivery company that delivers pre-portioned ingredients and recipes to subscribers.
I’ve never used Home Chef before and had no intention to use them until I saw this offer. But free stuff is free stuff. This offer is set up such that you need to make a purchase of at least $50 in a single transaction and you’ll get $50 back. You can use this offer up to 3X for a total of $150 in free food. The way Home Chef works is that they send you the food and recipes on a weekly basis for as long as you are subscribed.
I created an account today and set up deliveries for the next three weeks. My goal was to set up each delivery for as close as possible to $50, but not under. You need to make sure your weekly delivery is at least $50 or you won’t qualify for the rebate.
As you can see from above–my first delivery will result in a charge to my Amex platinum for $51.94. After I receive the rebate, this purchase will cost me only $1.94. I set up the other two deliveries the same way to minimize my out of pocket cost. A great deal, for sure. At this point, it is my intention to cancel my subscription when the Amex benefit is exhausted, but we’ll see.
