Amex Platinum Offers $100 in Free Home Depot Stuff

The American Express Platinum card added another fantastic offer: The Home Depot. You can get $50 back when you spend $50 at the Home Depot, and you can use this offer 2X for a total of $100 in cashback. This offer is good through June 30, 2021. Amex has released some other great perks for their platinum cardholders this month that can read about here and here.

As with all Amex offers you must first click on the offer to activate it before making the purchase. There are two areas in the fine print that I want to make you aware of.

  • An “eligible transaction” means an online purchase made with a “ship to home” or “ship to store” shipping option only.
  • Excludes in-store purchases, purchases made online but picked up curbside or in-store and purchases made online with a “Scheduled Delivery” shipping option. Not valid on gift card or e-gift card purchases. Excludes Tool, Truck, and Equipment Rental, Installation and Repair Services, Measurement Services, At Home Services, Home Depot Foundation, Home Depot Canada, Home Depot Mexico, Employee Funds, and the Employee Committee.

This offer has a few more restrictions and red tape to make it work compared to the typical Amex offer, but you can definitely receive the full $100 value with a little effort. Amex has really stepped up their game with these offers in 2021. Hopefully, this continues throughout the rest of the year.
