Most American Express cardholders are familiar with the Amex offers which I often discuss on this blog. Many people may not be aware that Chase also provides offers to their Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve cardholders. The Chase offers are far less extensive and generous compared to their Amex counterpart, but can be valuable nonetheless. Unlike Amex, the Chase offers are only for ‘cash back’ and never for a point bonus.
Your Chase offers can be found on the left hand side of your home screen from a computer or by scrolling all the way down to the bottom, if using the Chase mobile app. Just like the Amex offers, they must be physically added to your card before making the purchase.
From a personal point of view, I don’t find many of the Chase offers particularly useful or of significant value. However, there is one worth mentioning that I noticed on my Chase Sapphire Preferred card this morning. Like Amex offers, Chase offers can be both general (available to everyone) or targeted (to select cardholders) based upon spending patterns. So, this offer may, or may not, be available on your account.
You’ll get 5% cash back, up to $28, for using your card for Airbnb. Because Airbnb falls under the ‘travel’ category, the good news is that, in addition to the cash back, you’ll also receive 2X points if paying with your Preferred card or 3X points if using your Reserve card. That’s a pretty sweet deal.
