On Monday, I posted the latest travel updates relating to the coronavirus. It’s only been four days, and the situation is rapidly evolving. This is what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting today.
South Korea, Italy, and Iran were added to the avoid at all cost list.
The virus situation is incredibly fluid. More and more people are testing positive which is causing some panic. Global stock markets are tanking; airline stocks are taking the biggest hit. Flight routes are being altered daily. Hotels are shutting down in affected cities.
The good news is most of the US airlines now offer some form of travel waivers, and the major US hotel chains now offer flexibility for non-refundable rooms.
If you have travel plans, reach out to your carrier or credit card company to discuss your options. Oh, and please wash your hands.
