The Magic At Disney Is Gone…Temporarily

All Disney theme parks worldwide will be closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Over the past few weeks Disney sporadically closed their parks in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Paris as the outbreak worsened. Until the announcement was made yesterday, the two remaining resorts in the United States–Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida–were still open for business.

However, Disney just announced that all 11 of their parks worldwide will be closed because of the global pandemic. This unprecedented move will last, at least, through the end of March.

The company also said that it will suspend all new departures with the Disney Cruise Line starting tomorrow through the end of the month. Some good news is that all cast members will be paid while the parks are closed.

I am a huge Disney fan. There really is something magical about their parks and resorts, and I truly enjoyed raising my kids with Disney as a part of their childhood. As a parent, it is almost criminal if you haven’t taken your kids to a Disney park by their 12th birthday. Once this virus is behind us, please fix that. Sometimes it takes a pandemic to remind us that life is short. Every kids should experience the magic at least once.
