Palm Beach Airport Gets Much Needed Escape Lounge

Flying into Palm Beach Airport is a preferred choice for many people visiting or returning to the southeast coast of sunny Florida. It is smaller, much easier to navigate, and suffers far less flight delays than its Miami and Fort Lauderdale counterparts. The drawback is that the Delta SkyClub was the only lounge in the entire airport.

PBI added a second lounge back in February 2020–the PrimeClass Lounge. I was one of the first to visit this lounge when it opened, and you can read about it here. It was originally intended to be part of the popular PriorityPass collection, but that never happened.

Fortunately, the lounge has been recently rebranded as an Escape Lounge. Escape has about a dozen locations in the United States and several in the United Kingdom. The PBI lounge is slightly over 2,900 square feet–on the small side, but the airport is rarely crowded. Space shouldn’t be an issue.

Access

There are two ways to gain access to the lounge:

  • Pay the entrance fee at the door–$45 per person.
    • Pay $40, if you prebook online at escapelounges.com.
  • American Express Platinum cardmembers get complimentary access with two guests.

Offerings

The food and drink selection seems quite good.

This lounge is a welcome addition to PBI–giving flyers an additional option when passing through the airport. I look forward to revisiting it again after it was rebranded.
